YIP Pin Xiu brought in the third medal, a sliver of this paralympics games in the Women's 50m Freestyle - S3
i believe that this year will be the year which go down in history with medals won both in the olympic and the paralympic games.. however my point of this entry is not about the medals.. yes its something to celebrate about but i feel that the paralypmics games are not seen as as competitive as the olympics or for watever reason.. i feel the more emphasis should be place on the paralympics and not only on the olympics itself... both are sporting events i believe atheles from both the paralympics and the olympics train their heart out for the event they are competing in... but the question is why are the paralympics not as widely broad-casted and appreciated.. take for example the broadcast of olympic events on channel 5 and compare it with the paralympics.. the olypmics was shown on channel 5 almost throughout the day and even past midnight but the paralympics games i only remember seeing that there is a one hour highlight.. even the price money of the athletes for winning the medals are so different... i hope that in future, the paralympics and their athletes will get as much recognition and the olympics.. lets make the world a better place...
